Raiders Split with Trailblazers on Day One

The Pierce Raiders traveled to Centralia on Saturday morning to take on the Trailblazers for the first two games of the four-game series. The Trailblazers snapped the Raiders five game win streak, handing the Raiders a loss of 3-1. The Raiders managed to bounce back in game two with a 2-0 win.

In game one the Raiders offense was led by Kedren Kinzie who had two hits; a single and a double. Kinzie drove in the only run for the Raiders in the top of the fifth inning, scoring Mason Bowden on a single to center field. Joe Scheffler and Bowen each recorded one hit in the game, as well as freshman infielder, Cameron Hale who doubled to right field in the top of the second inning.

Kyle Larsen started on the mound for the Raiders, pitching a total of six innings, only giving up seven hits, three runs, zero walks, and striking out five. Isaias Mojica and Jackson Burtis each pitched one inning, giving up one hit each.

Saturdays split moves the Raiders West Region record to 5-1. They’ll take on the Trailblazers at home on Sunday at 12pm and 3pm.
