Raiders Earn Split with Walk-off Win

The Raider and Trailblazers split games three and four of the four game series, moving the Raiders West Region record to 6-2. In game one of the day the Raiders fell to the Trailblazers by a score of 7-4, and ended the day by defeating Centralia in walk-off fashion by a score of 2-1.

On offense, the Raiders were led by Mason Bowden, Tanner Hanson, and Carson Kawaguchi, who each produced two hits. Bowden, Hanson, and sophomore Kedren Kinzie each delivered a double in the game, the only Raiders to hit for extra bases. Kadin Kingsbury, Michael Moore, and Kinzie each had one hit for the Raiders. Moore, Kinzie, Hale, and Kingsbury each drove in one run for the Raiders.

Drake Anderson started on the mound for the Raiders, putting in seven innings of work before being relieved by Judah Kim. Anderson struck out three in his appearance. Kim faced a total of seven batters, giving up zero hits and striking out two in his 1.1 innings of work.

In the final game of the series, Centralia scored first in the top of the second inning, and managed to keep the Raiders silent until the bottom of the seventh inning when the Raiders were able to manufacture two runs to take the game.

Kadin Kingsbury led the Raiders with two hits in the game, including a double in the bottom of the fourth inning. Carson Kawaguchi started off the bottom of the seventh inning with a double, and made his way around the bases, scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of pinch hitter, Marcel Jones. The Raiders were able to score their final run of the game when Mason Bowden singled up the middle, scoring Kadin Kingsbury who has singled earlier in the inning.

Tyler McGowan went the distance on the mound, pitching all seven innings and earning his third win of the season. In the 31 batters faced, McGowan only gave up five hits, one run, three walks, and struck out eight.

The Raiders will open up play on their new home field at Fort Steilacoom, as they host the Lane College Titans on Friday at 4:00pm. The Raiders will take on the Titans again on Saturday at 11am, followed by Everett at 6:00pm.
