Raiders Run Past Red Devils, Split Series

The Pierce Raiders handed the Red Devils another loss in the four game series with a big win against the top ranked Red Devils. The Raiders put up 15 runs in the game, handing Lower Columbia their biggest loss of the season.

The Raiders scored 15 runs over nine innings, knocking around 18 hits in the game. Carson Kawaguchi led the Raiders offensively with four hits, three RBIs, and three runs, followed by Mason Bowden who had three hits, one RBI, and scored five runs for the Raiders. Five other Raiders recorded two hits in the game, including, Kedren Kinzie, Kyle Larson, Joe Scheffler, Michael Moore, and Ayden Vega. Joe Scheffler recorded two doubles and a sacrifice hit in the game, as well as two RBIs.

Drake Anderson pitched four innings for the Raiders, striking out four. Isaisa Mojica finished the final five innings, only giving up two hits, no walks, no runs, and striking out two.

After a silent game on offense for Lower Columbia, the Red Devils answered back in game four of the series with 10 hits and five runs, defeating the Raiders by a score of 5-2.

Michael Moore and Carson Kawaguchi each had two hits for the Raiders. Mason Bowden, Kedren Kinzie, Cameron Hale, Joe Scheffler, Braeden Fagnant, and Ayden Vega each had one hit in the game.

Tyler McGowan started on the mound for the Raiders, putting in 3.2 innings of work before Kailen Kimata entered the game for 1.1 innings. Jackson Burtis finished the game for Pierce for the final one inning of the game. McGowan saw 21 batters, giving up five hits, three runs, and four walks.

The Raiders are scheduled to complete the final two games of the series against Clark College on Thursday, May 9th in Vancouver at 1pm and 4pm. The Raiders are currently sitting in second place in West Region standings behind #2 ranked Tacoma.
