Raiders Sweep Rangers in First Meeting

The Raiders took games one and two of the four game series against Olympic College on Saturday at home. The Raiders defeated the Rangers in game one with a score of 13-3, ending the game early in eight innings. In game two the Raiders defeated the Rangers by a score of 4-3.

The Raiders knocked around 11 hits in game one, with multiple Raiders tallying multiple hits. Kedren Kinzie, Cameron Hale, Carson Kawaguchi, and Tanner Hanson each recorded two hits, and Michael Moore, Trent Lowe, and Joe Scheffler each recorded one hit for the Raiders. On the base path, Kedren Kinzie stole two bases and Carson Kawaguchi stole one base.

Kawaguchi led the Raiders in RBI with three, followed by Kinzie (2), Hale (2), Lowe (2), Scheffler (2), Moore (1), and Hanson (1).

Kyle Larsen earned his fourth win of the season on the mound, pitching all eight innings. Larsen struck out four, without giving up any walks.

In game two, the Raiders found themselves ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning, but in the top of the fifth inning Olympic tied the game with a three-run home run. In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Raiders started off the inning with a double off the bat of sophomore infielder, Kedren Kinzie. Carson Kawaguchi then reached first base on a throwing error by the pitcher, allowing Kinzie to score from second on the error, ending the game with a score of 4-3.

Mason Bowen led the Raiders on offense with three hits, followed by Cameron Hale (2), and Trent Lowe (1), Ashton Olson (1), Kedren Kinzie (1). Cameron Hale recorded two doubles on two hits in the game, while also driving in two runs.

Andrew Moberly worked the mound for the Raiders, earning his third win of the season. Moberly stuck out 10 in his appearance, only giving up four hits in 28 batters faced.
