Raiders Defeat Thunderbirds in West Region Opener

The Women’s Basketball team defeated the visiting Highline Thunderbirds by a score of 70-51. Wednesday nights win improves the Raiders overall record to 5-10 and 1-0 in West Region play.

The Raiders offense was led by freshman, Abuok Ageng, who recorded her second double-double of the season, with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Abuok added one assist and four steals in the game, and recorded a field goal percentage of 50%, making 11 of 22 attempts, as well as a free throw percentage of 62.5%, going 5-for-8.
Keshara Romain continued to produce on offense and defense with her 13th double-double this season, scoring 21 points and grabbing 20 rebounds, as well as three assists and six steals.
Overall, the Raiders had a total of 19 steals against the Thunderbirds, as well as 82 rebounds. Prior to the start of the game, Keshara Romain was recognized for collecting her 500th career rebound in a game on December 15, 2023, against Southwestern Oregon CC.  The sophomore standout currently has 581 rebounds, placing her second all-time on the Raiders’ career rebound list.

The Raiders are scheduled to take on the Tacoma Titans at home on Saturday, January 13th. Game time is slated for 1:00pm
