Raiders Dominate Chokers (10/12/22)

The Pierce Raiders offense and defense put on a show against Grays Harbor on Saturday. The Raiders scored a season-high 11 goals on the day and only allowed Grays Harbor to deliver one shot-on-goal. The Raiders overall season record advances 9-5-1 and 7-4-1 in the West Region.

Bella Atkinson was the first Raider to strike by kicking the ball into the net at the 8-minute mark. One minute later, Marissa Young (Bella Atkinson) delivered another goal. Marissa Young (unassisted) supplied her second goal of the day at the 19-minute mark, and her third goal reached the net at the 52nd minute. Laila Peterson recoded two goals on the day, her first at the 30-minute mark (unassisted), and again in the 34th minute (Bella Atkinson). Madison Ryneski played a role in the high-scoring game by adding two goals on the day at the 32ndminute (Bella Atkinson) and 53rd minute (Marissa Young). Bianca Passig had a huge day on offense by sending the ball into the net on three different occasions. Passig scored her first goal (unassisted) in the 66thminute, her second goal (unassisted) in the 75th minute, and her final goal (Rachel Mironchuk) in the 79thminute.

The Raiders had a total of 24 shots-on-goal with Bianca Passig leading the team with 7, Marissa Young and Madison Ryneski each had 5, Laila Peterson, Regina Garay, and Maddie Campbell all had 2, and Bella Atkinson had 1. Rylee Kline recorded her eight shutout of the season and logged two saves on the day.

The Raiders continue their journey on the road as they head to Longview to take on Lower Columbia College on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for noon.
