The Pierce Raiders Women's Soccer team hosted the Lower Columbia Red Devils on Wednesday in a West Region match-up. Pierce and Lower Columbia ended the game in a tie with a score of 1-1. The Raiders overall record this season changes to 5-2-1 and 3-1-1 in West Region play.
Lower Columbia broke the 0-0 tie in the first half, but the Raiders answered back with a goal in the second half. Ashlyn Kennedy (Marissa Young) scored the goal at the 75th minute after taking advantage of a free-kick. Four Raiders kept the Lower Columbia goalkeeper busy by delivering seven shots-on-goal, including, Laila Peterson (1), Bianca Passig (1), Marissa Young (1), and Ashlyn Kennedy (4). Rylee Kline had four saves on the day.
Next up for the Raiders is Highline College on Saturday. The Raiders will take on the Thunderbirds in Puyallup at 12:00pm.
