Best in the West - Again!!

The Raiders went on the road Friday night to take on West Region rival Highline, for the top spot in the division. The Raiders played their best match of the season, sweeping the Thunderbirds, 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-20). The win extended the Raiders undefeated season record to 11-0, 22-4 overall.

Top performers for the Raiders: Dominique Dizon had 12 kills, and Moeshana Maiava had 11; Kaya Anderson collected 31 assists; Saisha Morales had 11 digs, and Aureana Bernales and Anderson had 10 apiece; and Brianna Ingram had 3 blocks, with Maiava and Makenna Mosher each getting 2 blocks.

Greg Finel earned his 150th career win, and became the first Pierce - in any sport - to win four consecutive division titles. Finel's 150 wins ranks 4th all-time, behind Bill Mendelson (MBB - 271), Mark Edmonston (SFT - 262), and Kevin Davis (BSB - 213).

The win earns Pierce the #1 seed from the West, and will host the NWACWest Super Regionals on November 13 & 14. The Raiders close out the 2021 regular season on Wednesday, when they host South Puget Sound. Game time at 7:00 pm. Pierce Athletics will recognize the accomplishments of 8 sophomores, and will say a huge "thank you" to Head Coach Greg Finel, who is stepping down at the end of the season.
