Steve Aguilar enters his first year as head coach for the Raiders Men's Soccer program. Coach Aguilar has served as the Raiders' assistant the past three season, and brings over 15 years of coaching experience to Pierce College.

While in the Puyallup School District, Coach Aguilar coached several years as assistant girls coach at Puyallup and Emerald Ridge High School. He spent the last seven years rebuilding the Emerald Ridge High School Boys Soccer program. Under Coach Aguilar, the ERHS Jaguars won the South Puget Sound League Title and the West Central District III Title in 2021; the first time in school history. Coach Aguilar was awarded the SPSL and West Central District III Coach of the Year, along with the Tacoma News Tribune Coach of the Year awards in the 2021 season.

"I am looking forward to returning Pierce College to a championship caliber team," said Coach Aguilar. "Our incoming recruits and returning players are excited and up for the challenge. I'm excited to bring student athletes to Pierce, not only to further their education, but their soccer careers as well." said Coach Aguilar. "As a first-generation college student, I advocate to my athletes the importance of a solid education. I hope they leave Pierce with not only a great soccer experience, but a solid plan for their future."

"We are excited to have Steve take over the reins of the men's soccer program," said athletic director Duncan Stevenson. "His work as assistant with the program the past three years, along with his outstanding work with boys' varsity program at Emerald Ridge, has been great preparation for Steve to take the next step in his coaching development. His commitment to providing opportunities for success to student athletes, both on the field and in the classroom, will build a strong foundation for the growth of the program."

Coach Aguilar received his Bachelor of Arts in Broad Area Social Studies from Central Washington University in 2003. He is also Nationally Board Certified in teaching. He is currently a social studies teacher at Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. He is also a season ticket holder to the Sounders, has three daughters that also keep him busy, and has been happily married to his wife Katie for 20 years.
