Bio

Doug Carlson joined the Athletics Staff in September, 2007 as the Health Education Center (HEC) Operations Manager at the Ft. Steilacoom Campus.  Prior to coming to Pierce College, he worked for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the YMCA of Pierce County.
 
From 2010-2014, he was the head volleyball coach of the Raiders.  His head coaching experience prior to that was 5 years at Tacoma Community College and 3 years at St. Martin’s University.  He also has been the head coach at both the club and high school level.
 
As the Operations Manager, he oversees all athletic game operations within the gym facilities at Ft. Steilacoom; oversees front desk and fitness center staff; schedules and manages all special events at the HEC; and oversees fitness center classes and the intramural programs.
 
Carlson is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, with a double major in History and Religion.
 
Doug and his wife Erin live in Tacoma and have four wonderful children: Sarah, Caleb, Zadok, and Ezekiel.
