Bio

Kevin Davis is entering his 9th season with the Raider Baseball Program and his 7th season at the helm for the Raiders. Davis was the Head Assistant and Pitching Coach for the Raiders during his first two years, helping lead the program to its first ever Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Baseball Championship in 2012, in which his pitching staff posted an impressive 1.95 team ERA in conference play.

In the eight seasons Davis has been with the Raiders, the program has experienced a tremendous amount of success. Pierce has won four of the last six NWAC West Region titles in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, an NWAC Championship in 2012, a runner up finish in the NWAC Championship Tournament in 2013 and a 3rd place finish at the NWAC Championship Tournament in 2016.

The 2018 Raider Baseball team continued in the program’s recent tradition of excellence on the field, qualifying for the Northwest Athletic Conference playoffs for the eighth consecutive year, and won 29 wins on the season.  This is shortly behind the 2016 team which had a program record 34 wins on the season. Davis is 143-67 overall (.681) and 90-34 (.726) in league.

Pierce College's recent success the past six years has also paid off for Raider baseball players. Since 2013, Davis has helped 32 of his players earn scholarships to NCAA Division I, II, and III and NAIA schools. In 2013, Pierce College had its first player signed in the MLB Draft: The Los Angeles Angels selected hard-throwing right-hander Elliot Morris in the 4th round.

A native of Renton, Davis played two years in the NWAC, at Big Bend Community College and then Bellevue College. After finishing at Bellevue, Davis went on to complete a successful collegiate career at South Carolina's Lander University (NCAA Division II), where he also earned a bachelor's degree in history. Davis signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves, and pitched in their organization for two years. Prior to coming to Pierce, Davis served as the Volunteer Assistant in the Big South Conference at Presbyterian College, a NCAA Division I program in South Carolina, where he worked with the pitching staff and infield. He has also coached summer league ball in the Seattle Premier League and in the Puget Sound Collegiate League.
