Raiders Split with Penguins

The Pierce Raiders split the day against the Clark Penguins in Vancouver, Washington. The Raiders started out the day with a win but let game two slip away as the Penguins were able to outscore the Raiders by a score of 7-0.

Game 1 at Clark:

The Raiders defeated the Penguins in game one with a score of 3-1. Joe Scheffler led the Raiders in hits with three and Michael Moore had two hits for the Raiders. Caden Stinson, Garrett Smith, and Ryan Stansell each had one hit. Moore, Stinson, and Scheffler each drove in a run in the top of the seventh inning which is all the Raiders needed to take the win. Ethan Salscheider pitched a complete game, going nine innings and faced 33 batters. Salscheider only gave up four hits, one run, and two walks while striking out four.

Game 2 at Clark:

The Raiders were unable to keep their momentum moving forward as Clark took the win in game two with a score of 7-0. The Raiders were held to only three hits in the game, with Michael Moore, Caden Stinson, and Ayden Vega each tallying one hit.
Cooper Weygandt started on the mound for the Raiders but was relieved by Joby Johnson after five innings of work. Weygandt faced 30 batters, giving up seven hits, six runs, and five walks while striking out three. Johnson worked the mound for one inning seeing five batters and giving up two hits, one run and zero walks. Johnson struck out one batter in his appearance.
