Raiders Take Series Against Penguins

The Pierce Raiders won three of four games against the Clark Penguins over the weekend extending their overall season record to 21-14 and 9-3 in the West Region. The Raiders currently sit in second place in the West Region Standings, sitting behind cross-town-rival, Tacoma Community College.

Game 3 at Pierce:

The Raiders went back to work on Sunday afternoon as they Raiders took game three with a score of 5-3. Richie Reding led the Raiders in runs with two. Reding and Garrett Smith each had two hits for the Raiders. Additionally, Reding walked once and stole two bases in the game. Joe Scheffler, Caden Stinson, and Ayden Vega each added one hit and one stolen base for Pierce. Drake Anderson pitched all nine innings for the Raiders, facing 44 batters. Anderson gave up 14 hits, three runs (two earned), three walks, and struck out two.

Game 4 at Pierce:

Pierce managed to take game four from Clark as the Raiders secured the series win with a score of 2-1. Richie Reding continued to dominate the Penguins on offense by knocking around two more hits, one being a triple for extra bases. Reding and Ayden Vega were the only two Raiders to cross the plate in the game. Michael Moore collected both RBI’s in the game. Moore, Kedren Kinzie, and Caden Stinson each had one hit for Pierce. Kailen Kimata earned the win for the Raiders, putting in 5.1 innings of work. Kimata faced 20 batters, giving up five hits, one run, one walk, and striking out 2. Curran Jacobs relieved Kimata in the sixth inning, working a total of 1.2 innings. Jacobs saw six batters, giving up one only hit, and zero runs or walks, while striking out one.

The Raiders will play against Lower Columbia College in Longview on Saturday April 29th at 12pm and 3pm. On Sunday, April 30th, the Raiders will host Lower Columbia College in Puyallup at 12pm and 3pm.
