Raiders Split with Chokers

The Raiders ended their last West Region series against Grays Harbor with a split. The Raiders lost to Grays Harbor in game one on Friday, May 12th by a score of 1-0. Pierce came back from the loss to take game two by a score of 5-2. Pierce traveled to Aberdeen on Saturday, May 13th where they took game one from the Chokers with a score of 5-4. Grays Harbor took game four with a score of 6-1. Pierce ended the regular season as the fourth seed in the West Region Standings.

Game 1 at Pierce:
The Raiders were limited to only five hits in game one with Ryan Gerlitz, Caden Stinson, Kedren Kinzie, Steven Moore, and Richie Reding each recording one hit. Moore and Reding each tallied a hit for extra bases as they each hit a double in the game. Ethan Salscheider started on the hill for Pierce, pitching all nine innings. Salcheider faced 37 batters in the game, fanning seven and only giving up one run and one walk.

Game 2 at Pierce:
The Raiders scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early lead in game two. Ryan Gerlitz had two hits on the day, including a double. Caden Stinson had two RBIs, a stolen base, and two hits, one being a double for extra bases. Kaden Bertram added a double and a stolen base for the Raiders, and Steven Moore hit his second double of the day. Kedren Kinzie and Richie Reding each recorded one hit for the Raiders. Cooper Weygandt earned the win for the Raiders, pitching all seven innings. Weygandt gave up three hits, two runs (one earned), give walks, and struck out three.
