Raiders Split with Chokers, Earn Post Season Berth

Game 3 at Pierce:
Pierce fell behind in game three but added five runs in the top of the eighth inning to take the win from Grays Harbor. Four different Raiders recorded two hits on the day, including Ryan Gerlitz, Caden Stinson, Kaden Bertram, and Joe Scheffler. Steven Moore and Richie Reding each had one hit in the game. Garrett Smith, Kaden Bertram, Steven Moore, Ayden Vega, and Richie Reding each drove in one run for the Raiders. Drake Anderson got the start on the mound, pitching a total of 6.1 innings before being relieved by Lincoln Gamble. Anderson gave up seven hits, four runs (two earned), one walk, and struck out seven. Gamble only gave up on hit, one walk, and struck out two. Curran Jacobs entered the game in the seventh inning, pitching the final two innings. Jacobs walked two and struck out two without giving up any runs or hits.

Game 4 at Grays Harbor:
The Raiders fell into trouble early on as Grays Harbor scored five runs before the fifth inning. The Chokers held the Raiders to only two hits in the game, one off the bat of freshman, Carson Kawaguchi, and one for extra bases, a double, from sophomore Bowen Stinson. Stinson also had the only RBI for Pierce and stole one base. Kailen Kimata was the starting pitcher for Pierce, putting in three innings of work. Kimata gave up five hits, three runs, and struck out two. Joby Johnson entered the game in the fourth inning, giving up two hitsm two runs (two earned). Tanner Hanson relieved Johnson in the fifth inning, and gave up on walk while striking out one. Evan Williamson finished the game for the Raiders, pitching one inning. Williamson gave up five hits, and one run (one earned).

The Raiders will now head to Pasco, Washington as the #4 seed from the West.

On Friday, May 19th at 12pm they will take on Skagit Valley, the #3 seed from the North in a loser-out game. At 4pm on Friday, the winner from game 1 will take on Columbia Basin, the #2 seed from the East in a best-of-three series. The two teams will play again on Saturday, May 20th at 12pm & 4pm (if necessary). The winner of the Super Regional Playoff will then head to the NWAC Championship at David Story Field in Longview, hosted by Lower Columbia College.
