Raiders Hold Off Trailblazers

The Pierce Raiders defeated the Centralia Trailblazers by a score of 90-86 on Wednesday evening. The Raiders ended the first half leading the Trailblazers 39-31, and continued to lead the remainder of the game despite a rally from Centralia late in the game. Wednesday night’s win advances the Raiders overall record to 12-10 and 4-3 in West Region play.

Michael Ajayi led the Raiders in points with 24. Ajayi added nine rebounds, one assist and two steals in the game. Michael shot 91.7% from the free-throw line, sinking 11 of 12 attempts.

Will Green contributed 16 points in the game and grabbed three rebounds. Offensively, Green was on fire, shooting 83.3% from the field going 5-6, 75% from the 3-point line sinking 3-4, and 100% from the free-throw line.

Chancellor Hilliard added 12 points for the Raiders, as well as four rebounds, and one assist. Hilliard was 4-6 from the field and 4-4 from the free-throw line.

Iv’rson Lavizzo led the Raiders in minutes played with 35. Lavizzo added 13 points for Pierce as well as two assists and two steals. Iv’rson also grabbed four rebounds in the game.

Keelen Allen was efficient on offense and defense, scoring 11 points and securing nine rebounds. Allen added one block in the game.

The Raiders play again next Wednesday against Highline at home. Tip off is slated for 7:30pm.
