Raiders Silence Titans, Extend Win Streak to Four Games

The Pierce Raiders defeated their cross-town rival, Tacoma, on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders offense proved to be efficient early on in the game, leading the Titans by a score of 38-29 at halftime. Pierce continued to produce on offense, beating the Titans by a score of 83-76. In their last meeting, the Raiders lost to Tacoma in their first overtime game of the season by a score of 84-82. Saturday’s win brings the Raiders overall schedule to 14-10 and 6-3 in the West Region. The Raiders currently sit in 3^rd place in West Region Standings.

The Raiders offense and defense were both led by Michael Ajayi. Ajayi put up 25 points against the Titans and grabbed 13 rebounds in the game. Michael also added seven assists, three steals, and three blocks. Michael also reach a career milestone in the game against Tacoma, reaching 1,000 Career Points.

Iv’rson Lavizzo provided 16 points for Pierce and added two assists and one steal in the game. Lavizzo secured four rebounds for the Raiders. From the field, Lavizzo went 7-11, averaging 63.6% and shot 40% from the free-throw line.

Nymier Brooks added 11 points for the Raiders. Brooks shot 100% from the field, going 4-4, and 100% from the free-throw line, sinking all three attempts. Additionally, Brooks clutched eight rebounds, and had one assist and one steal against Tacoma.

Keelen Allen delivered 10 points in the game, and snagged eight rebounds. From the free-throw line, Keelen shot 100%, and shot 80% from the field, going 4-5. Allen had one steal and one block. 

Tai White another 10 points for Pierce. In field-goals, White shot a solid 66.7%, sinking four of six attempts and was 50% from the three-point line. Tai had two assists, one steal, and one rebound in the game.

The Raiders are looking to extend their win-streak to five games on Wednesday, as they head to Aberdeen, WA to take on Grays Harbor. Game time is scheduled for 8:00pm.
