Royals Run Past Raiders

The Pierce Raiders traveled north to Canada to take on Douglas College in Surrey, BC on Sunday March 18th. The Douglas College Royals defeated the Raiders in both games, by a score of 5-1 and 8-0. Sunday’s losses drop the Raiders overall record to 0-9 and 0-4 in North Region play.

Kendall Lawson started off the first game with a hit in the top of the first inning. Two batters later, Savannah Manley also singled, driving in Lawson on the play. Cydney Jarvis pitched the complete game for the Raiders, going 6 innings with two strikeouts, and one walk.

In game two, Grace Spencer led the Raiders on offense, going 3-for-3 and had the only stolen base in both games for Pierce. Kendall Lawson and Elena Castanon each added one hit for Pierce. Vivian Watts pitched 5.2 innings for the Raiders, striking out one.

The Raiders home opener is on Wednesday, March 29th against Highline. Game times are scheduled for 4pm & 6pm.
