Raiders Fall to Trojans

The Pierce Raiders hosted the Everett Trojans in Puyallup on Wednesday, May 10th. In their last meeting of the season, Everett defeated the Raiders in both games in five innings. Wednesday night’s losses drop the Raiders overall record to 6-23 and 4-16 in North Region play.

In game one, the Raiders strung together eight hits. Elena Castanon had two hits, including a double, and Baylee Blau and Hollie Haataia each had two hits as well. Grace Spencer had one hit in the game, a double, and Savannah Manley also recorded one hit. Both runs for the Raiders came off the bat of Castanon, including a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning. Cydney Jarvis got the start for the Raiders, pitching all five innings. Jarvis gave up 11 hits, 12 runs, four walks, and struck out three.

In game two, Pierce had a total of three hits and stranded four runners on base. Baylee Blau, and Makayla Stockman each tallied one hit. Savannah Manley logged her second homerun of the season in the bottom of the fourth inning, marking one hit and one RBI for the Raiders. Stockman started on the mound for the Raiders, working a total of 4.2 innings, giving up 10 hits, 11 runs, three walks, and struck out one.

The Raiders will play in Bremerton on Friday, May 12th against Olympic College. Game times are scheduled for 2pm & 4pm.
