Raiders Split with Rangers

Pierce College traveled to Bremerton, WA to take on Olympic College on Friday, May 12th. The Olympic Rangers beat the Raiders in game one by a score of 6-4, but Pierce took the win in game two with a score of 5-1. Friday’s split with Olympic changes the Raiders overall season record to 7-24 and 5-17 in the North Region conference.

Despite knocking around 11 hits in the game, the Raiders were unable to bring home the win. Savannah Manley kept her bat hot, tallying three hits in the game, including two doubles, and drove in one run. Grace Spencer, Baylee Blau, and Elena Castanon each had two hits for Pierce, with Castanon bringing in two runs. Kendall Lawson and Cydney Jarvis each added one hit for the Raiders. Jarvis pitched the complete game for Pierce, facing 29 batters. In her appearance Jarvis struck out seven, walked two batters, and gave up nine hits and six runs.

In game two Jarvis pitched her second game of the day, going all seven innings. In the 30 batters she faced, Cydney struck out seven, gave up four hits, three walks, and one run. On offense, Jarvis tallied one hit and scored on run for the Raiders. Savannah Manley added three more hits on the day, including a 2-run homerun in the top of the sixth inning. Manley totaled three RBIs and two runs in the game. Elena Castanon added two hits for the Raiders, as well as Kendall Lawson, who had a double in the top of the sixth inning, and an RBI triple in the top of the seventh inning.

The Raiders will finish up their season at home against Edmonds College on Saturday, May 13th.
