Everett Tops Raiders

The Pierce Raiders traveled to Everett to take on the Trojans on Wednesday evening for their first meeting this season. The Trojans defeated the Raiders in game one with a score of 5-1 and 11-3 in game two.

In game one the Raiders scored early in the game on a double from sophomore Sidnye Burger, scoring Samantha Tungsvik. Tungsvik had two hits in the game, and Elyssa Barnett, Madison Septon, and Sidnye Burger each had one hit.

Vivian Watts earned the start, pitching all six innings and holding the Trojans scoreless until a series of defensive errors in the bottom of the fifth inning provided Everett with five runs. Watts gave up zero walks and struck out four.

The Raiders found more opportunities to score in the second game with three runs. The Raiders gathered five hits in the game with two hits off the bat of Vivian Watts, and one from each Samantha Tungsvik, Jenna Bettge, and Abigail Lindenmuth.

Samantha Tungsvik started on the mound for the Raiders, striking out four in her appearance.
