Bio

Brent Freeman enters his first season as the Head Coach for the Raider Softball program.  Freeman brings a wealth of high-level playing, coaching, and private instruction experience, to his first college head coaching position. 

Freeman enjoyed a 25 year career as an elite men’s fastpitch player, both in New Zealand and in the Pacific Northwest.  His previous coaching experience has been primarily with the men’s game.  He took his Gold Division team to two top-3 national championship finishes, and was named coach of the year 3 times. He is a 2 time Gold Medal winner in International Tournaments. Freeman has coached in the local girls select circuit with the Acer’s, and Washington Storm.

“This position is an opportunity to have an impact on the Raider softball program and to bring it back to relevance in the NWAC,” stated Freeman.  “I enjoy working with athletes to help them realize their full potential both in the classroom and on the field. I’m excited to get started and see what the future holds for Pierce Raider softball.”

Born and raised in New Zealand, Freeman moved to the U.S. in 2007 and lives in Kent, WA, with his wife Suzie of 28 years.  He is a graduate of Northcote College, in Auckland, New Zealand. 

Last season, the Raiders finished with an overall record of 7-26, going 5-19 in North Region play, after finishing the 2021-22 season at 11-21 and 9-17.
