Raiders Sink Clippers on Sophomore Night

The Pierce Raiders defeated the South Puget Sound Clippers on Saturday for the second time this season. The Raiders and Clippers ended the first quarter tied at 14 apiece, but the Raiders quickly took the lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Clippers 20-9. Saturday’s win improves the Raiders overall record to 11-14 and 7-4 in West Region play. The Raiders have clinched a spot in the NWAC playoffs with a fourth-place seeding. Prior to the start of the game the Raiders celebrated their four sophomores, Leslie Luna, Jordyn Peterson, Keshara Romain, and Talia Spencer.

Keshara Romain led the Raiders on offense and defense, with a total of 21 points and 16 rebounds, as well as five assists, eight steals, and one block. Tayah Parker added 12 points for the Raiders, as well as 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Additionally, Leslie Luna and Jordyn Peterson each scored 10 points in the game.

The Raiders will head to Centralia on Wednesday to take on Centralia College at 5:00pm
