Highline Tops Pierce (11/4/22)

The Pierce Raiders had a bittersweet Friday night as the celebrated their three sophomores, but fell to league rival, Highline College. The Raiders started the evening off by recognizing their three outstanding sophomores, Raedyn Goudreau, Sway Leia, and Addie Downs, on an amazing two-year career at Pierce. The Raiders fell to the Thunderbirds in the three-set-match with a score of 0-3. The Raiders overall season schedule falls to 12-15 and 6-6 in the West Region.

It was a quiet night for the Raiders offense, as they totaled only 24 kills for the night. Abby Draghici led the team with 6 kills, while Madisyn Buckner, Addie Downs, and Sway Leia each delivered 5. Tyra Brown, who joined the Raiders late in the season, had one kill, as well as Raedyn Goudreau, and Hollie Haataia

Madisyn Buckner led the defense with 9 digs, Sway Leia and Addie Downs had 7, Abby Draghici had 5, and Raedyn Goudreau and Hollie Haataia each had 4 digs.

Despite Friday night's loss, the Raiders have secured their spot in the NWAC Regionals this year and will take on Columbia Basin College on Saturday, November 12th at 10:00am. The 2022 NWAC Regionals will be held at Linn-Benton College in Albany, Oregon.
