Pierce Falls in Straight Sets to Penguins, Tritons at Home

The Pierce College Raiders continued their round-robin action on Tuesday, taking on Clark and Edmonds at home.

In the opening match against Clark, the Raiders fell in straight sets (25-15, 25-12, 25-11). Jaelynn Gross and Fiona Mallory each tallied seven kills, with Mallory also adding two service aces. Rayley Peterson dished out 11 assists, while Kate Carlson anchored the defense with 11 digs.

Pierce then matched up against Edmonds, dropping another three-set contest (25-14, 25-13, 25-16). Gross led the Raiders with 10 kills and 9 digs, while Mallory turned in a strong all-around performance with 7 kills, 2 assists, 2 service aces, and 11 digs. Peterson contributed 16 assists, 6 digs, and a kill, while Carlson chipped in 16 digs, 1 kill, 1 assist, and 1 ace.

Up next, the Raiders will travel to Pasco for the East Region Crossover, hosted by Columbia Basin College. They’ll take the court against Bellevue and Wenatchee Valley on Friday, September 12, before facing Clackamas on Saturday, September 13.
